Chilliwack- Funding of over $2.1 million for state of the art training equipment for the Agriculture Centre of Excellence at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) in Chilliwack was announced today by the Minister of State for Western Diversification, the Honourable Michelle Rempel.

Conservative Government working to curb prescription drug abuse

Chilliwack- Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP Mark Strahl announced that the federal government was seeking ideas on how to improve the prescribing practices of drugs that have a high risk of abuse or addiction.

"Prescription drugs are now the most commonly abused substance by youth after alcohol and marijuana. To curb this growing problem, we need to raise awareness of the risks and dangers associated with their abuse," said Strahl.
