The Liberal government has introduced legislation to legalize marijuana in Canada.
Concerns for public health and safety have been raised, but the Liberal Government is rushing this change through to meet their arbitrary deadline of July 1, 2018.
According to the Canadian Paediatric Association when youth under 25 smoke marijuana they have increased risks of mental health issues including psychosis and schizophrenia.
Police have said that they currently lack the tools and resources to test for drug impaired driving. Provinces and territories have all expressed concerns about the timeline.
Why the rush?
