Chilliwack- Mark Strahl, MP for Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon is encouraging concerned citizens to participate in the annual pre-budget consultation process now underway.

"This is a great opportunity to have your say in how best the Government can keep Canada growing and prosperous in a fragile global economy," said Strahl.

Small businesses, non-profit groups, industry organizations, and individuals are all invited to participate in this important process by making an online submission at the following website: http://bit.ly/LyJ1fM. The deadline for submissions is August 3, 2012.

All submissions will help to inform the Committee's pre-budget recommendations, many of which have ultimately been reflected in previous federal budgets.

Submissions will be circulated to all members of the House Finance Committee, who will then identify those who will be invited to make an oral presentation scheduled to begin in September 2012.

For additional information on the Committee's pre-budget consultation, please visit the Standing Committee on Finance's website at: http://bit.ly/O9M1Pw.
