Chilliwack- MP for Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon, Mark Strahl is encouraging the community to nominate for a Prime Minister's Volunteer Award individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations that make exceptional voluntary contributions.
"Volunteers make an enormous difference in the lives of people in our community every day. The Prime Minister's Volunteer Awards are a way of recognizing the outstanding volunteers among us," said Strahl.
Chilliwack- Forestry and value-added wood products; fish and seafood; agricultural and agrifood products are among the British Columbian industries to benefit from a free trade agreement with South Korea according to Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Mark Strahl.
"Preferred access to the dynamic and growing economy of South Korea will create jobs and economic opportunities for British Columbians in every region of the province," said Strahl.
Ottawa- On behalf of the Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Honourable Julian Fantino, Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Mark Strahl is inviting local D-Day and Battle of Normandy Veterans to contact Veterans Affairs about participating in the 70th anniversary commemorative events in France on June 6, 2014.
"We want to honour those Canadians who fought so valiantly on D-Day and Battle of Normandy to secure the freedoms we enjoy today," said Strahl.

Ottawa- Mark Strahl, MP for Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today highlighted important details of the $53 billion New Building Canada Plan expected to launch in spring 2014.
Ottawa- Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Mark Strahl highlighted four items in Economic Action Plan 2014 that he says responds directly to concerns raised by his constituents. The budget items Strahl referred to are: conserving recreational fisheries habitat; introducing a tax credit to
recognize the role played by search and rescue volunteers; bringing greater accountability to Parliament; and a further expanding of benefits for Veterans.
Ottawa- Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Mark Strahl welcomed Economic Action Plan 2014, the Conservative Government's 2014 budget for its focus on creating jobs, growing the economy and projecting a return to balanced budgets in 2015.
