Seniors

Some seniors require help and support during this difficult time, facing new challenges during COVID-19. We have compiled a list of some of our community resources that have been put in place specifically to assist seniors. This page will be updated as new resources become available.

Safe Seniors, Strong Communities call 2-1-1 or www.bc211.ca

The 211 phone line and website helps connect seniors with people who want to help them during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The 211 phone number can be called from anywhere in the province, and is staffed 24 hours a day by a live operator.

CHILLIWACK

Do you need help with:

A friendly phone call?

Call 604.798.2023 to reach Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners volunteers or 604.793.7204 to reach Senior Peer Counselling Volunteers. They are offering seniors social, educational, caregiver, personal and/or group connections via phone or online service.

Grocery orders or pre-paid medication pick-up?

Call 778.860.5499 to reach Chilliwack Community Services. CCS will pick up groceries for you from a pre-selected list and deliver them to you free of charge. You will be provided a receipt upon delivery and your credit card will be charged accordingly.

Call 604.793.9979 to reach Chilliwack and District Seniors’ Resources Society for information about their free weekly essential grocery program for low-income seniors who are unable to access other community programs.

London Drugs is now working with the united way to connect local volunteers with seniors who need help with grocery, prescription pick-up, and more. Click here to access the Mobilizing Local Love program or Call 2-1-1.

London Drugs has set up a dedicated resource to help seniors on a one-on-one basis. Caregivers and family members can email SupportSeniors@LondonDrugs.com if they know of a family member who might be isolated and in desperate need of any essential items or medications.
