The Trudeau Liberals are seeking to regulate popular social media platforms through the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), much as it regulates radio and TV content now. This overly broad Liberal policy will not only place the government between you and the social media platforms you use, it also leaves the door open to the government deciding what you should see and what you should post online. This attack on internet neutrality is unacceptable and must be stopped.
It’s not just Conservatives who are concerned by this proposed massive overreach. University of Ottawa law professor Michael Geist says the Liberals are now “the most anti-Internet government in Canadian history.”
My Conservative colleagues and I will fiercely push back against this dangerous attack on free speech. I encourage you to read more about Bill C-10 and complete the below survey letting me know what you think.
