MP STRAHL PROMOTES CONSERVATIVE PLAN TO MAKE HOME HEATING TAX-FREE
CHILLIWACK – Mark Strahl, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack—Hope promotes the next step in Andrew Scheer’s Conservative plan to help Canadians get ahead and save on their home heating and energy bills.
“In Canada, heating your home is a necessity – not a luxury,” said Strahl. “Residents in Chilliwack—Hope keep telling me it’s all they can do to get by each month. Soaring home energy bills are only making things worse, especially for seniors and those living on a fixed income.”
That is why a Conservative government, led by Prime Minister Andrew Scheer, will remove the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from home heating and energy bills, including electricity, natural gas, heating oil, and wood pellets to put more money back into the pockets of hard-working Canadians. This will save the average British Columbian household $89 per year.
“I am proud of this plan because taking the tax off home heating and energy bills makes sense,” said Strahl. “It will put more money back into the pockets of hard-working Canadians. This is yet another way a Conservative government will help all Canadians get ahead.”
